Blogging is something I've thought about trying for some time; just haven't taken the time to get started until now. It's interesting that I ended up here while trying to help a friend by adding a comment to her blog.
While blogging isn't something about which I'm qualified to write, I do know a thing or two about counted cross stitch and other types of needlework. My experience with needle and thread spans more decades than I care to admit, but I will confess to being addicted to cross stitch for at least 35 years. Most recently my stitching has opened opportunities for me to write about the subject for an online group. (More about that in a later post.)
My current works in progress include a Janlynn kit that was a Christmas gift from my grandson, a Hardanger curtain for the remodeled kitchen at my son's home, and numerous projects which are completed but not finished. But then, most people who cross stitch are guilty; we get the stitching done and the piece gets laundered and packed in acid-free tissue paper in an acid-free storage box. Why don't we get them framed so they can be appreciated and enjoyed? There might not ever be an answer to that question.
The good news is that many members of my family and several friends have received my projects as gifts and that a few of my favorites decorate the walls of my apartment. One of my goals is to stitch something special for as many members of my family as possible ~ and to find a market for other projects in order to support my habit.
My aim is to provide ideas and tips in future posts as time permits. For now, I'm off to stitch!
